Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist (Review)

*FYI: If you're into indie music, love stuff, heartbreaks caused by cheating partners, unexpected roadtrips, roam-around-the-city-with-no-specific-destination kind of thing, and lastly epic bounce backs, then this movie will definitely be your vibe! :)

The story revolves around these two indie music lovers Nick and Norah who, in some strange coincidences, are both big fans of the notorious "fluffy pants" and are lonely suckers with there current love interests. The plot moves on with further audio slaving, car skids, and bait and switch performances which the band, fluffy pants, are well-known of. The two, Nick and Norah, then meets together (not to mention nick's gay friends are behind all these hooking) in pursuit of fluffy's secret show. A few bumps and bruises along the way and they find themselves clamoring for each others' commonalities and differences which gives the movie a push of excitement and love bubbles effects! lol It's a worth-to-watch movie but with uttermost caution, The plot is pretty predictable and common. The playtime is also a bit lacking since it's only a rightful 89-minute view. Nonetheless, the storyline is interesting and definitely way better than twilight as much as "love-themed flick" is concerned. (Oh, so much for bloodsuckers! *gag*)

Movie lines and Sticky Notes

*bugger note 1:"If hatred busted you in, Only love can bust you out." - Hurricane Carter

Hatred and vengeance are products of free-will. They do not function the other way around like most people think or pretend to know. I often hear people saying "I was so filled with such emotion I did this or that". I call it bull! Excuses excuses excuses. When will our species ever learn?

Lesson 1: We, as humans, are stubborn to the core.
Note: Remember Levitan's 1969 interview with John Lennon addressing this line about human capability - "We are all Hitlers inside. We are all Christs inside. But it's all up to us which role we are going to play."

I've had my fair share of the deal. Fallen and crumbled before everybody's eyes especially my loved ones. It is a humiliating scene as ever but at the same time can't complain about it because I chose it for myself. Things fall apart unexpectedly. It is the way our universe is designed. e.g. Once a beautiful shining star up above our heads have now gone pitch-black and warped like a monster's mouth preparing for a big suck - A Blackhole. Every person has his own personal "sucker" side. I can assure you that.

Lesson 2: People are prone to change and in this life, change is a never-ending pillow fight.
Note: "If you can't beat me, you can't go to the next level. Worst yet, prepare to be punished." - K.A. Jabbar in "Game of Death 2"

Personally, I think the real issue about us making bad decisions is the fact that we are thinking specs of existence and sometimes we "over think" simple things. We try as much as possible to justify our very actions and are so eager and furious to defend the latter. But accompanying these are emotions - the most undependable dependence anyone could ever depend on - and yet we strive to combine the two like 2 sperms trying to merge, oil and water, or reality and fantasy can never compliment each other. We step back, stand aside one corner and expect something to happen. Of course something will happen and that is failure. It is preposterous. Or is it not?

Lesson 3: Life offers a vast selection of possibilities.
Note: "I've seen every kind of situation with my age and I'm glad to share, Jewish or Non-Jewish, everything is possible." - An old man from the movie "12"

**Personal shoutout - To Whom It may concern: I really don't know how to end this. I'm bad with endings as you already know by now. But I guess what I'm trying to say is let's try it again. Let's keep the fire burning. Afterall, I've seen what my heart is made of. Stop this war of hearts and minds.

*bugger note 2: ahm... But not for now I guess. But I promise I'll be coming back to you. Everything is possible anyway.

Lesson 4: Einstein said He could never understand it all, so why should we worry?
note: "The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time" - J. Taylor

Live.Love.Laugh.

Forget worries.

Let's just live for now.

Philippine Policy: Live Hard or Die Young

"The law is all powerful and constant but what can be done when mercy has a greater force than law? God I'm blind." - B. Tolsia

I dedicate this to my fellowmen back home.
It seems like nothing is going to change afterall. :(
We all live in a world full of inconvenient truths and this poem is likely be one of them.

I wrote this 3 years ago after reading an article about politically-driven summary executions allegedly performed by our very own Philippine Army in most parts of Mindanao. Looks like greed has come a long way since Aguinaldo don't you think?

-MARCOS-

teka lang kapatid
saan ka ba patungo?
saan mo ba 'yan gagamitin?
isa't kalahating kilometro na ang iyong nilakad
at ang presyo mo'y iisa pa rin
at parehas sa naunang bayad
kelan ka ba gigising?
ano pang hinihintay?
ba't di mo aminin
ilabas ang iyong mga daing
mga hinanakit na sa iyo'y
itinambak, ibinaling at naipon
sa pagdaan ng panahon
ba't di mo ipaglaban ang iyong sarili?
sa mga buwayang handang sumunggab
sa mga pagkakataong ika'y nakatalikod
humarap ka kapatid huwag kang manlumo't mahiya
tutal pare-parehas lang naman tayong
limampiso ang presyo
limampiso ang bayad

When will we have the strength to confront the "monster" we, ourselves, have long created?
